Why we succeed
Launceston Kip McGrath Image

Our fully qualified teachers use a proven program, designed by Australian teachers for Australian children. Our staff members are caring and experienced.

We fill the "gaps" in our students learning by developing the skills and habits necessary for success at school. We also aim to build the confidence and motivation so necessary to support new learning.

What our Parents say:
Launceston Kip McGrath Image

Mrs. Michelle Crowden, mother of Maddison, aged 7, said that she was concerned about her daughter's progress. "Since attending Kip McGrath her progress has been wonderful, her attitude is so different and she is happier at school."

Mrs. Jan Sheppard, said "we knew her age level and tried to help her at home. However, this just caused emotional upsets and we did not have the professional expertise of the Kip McGrath tutors. Laura is how confident and capable. She now believes she can do better, the tutorials have made all the difference."

Launceston:  P: 6334 3234

Dear Parents

As we head toward the end of second term, again I’d like to thank you for your support as we help your child develop the confidence and skills necessary in Literacy and Numeracy as they head towards their potential.  Each of the tutors at the Centre are thrilled with the efforts and progress being made and look forward to further assisting progress and achievements.  Please make the effort to speak with your child’s tutor frequently so we are able to let you know of individual progress and achievements.

Recently we have begun a television advertising campaign on Southern Cross and 7Two to further publicise the great work happening here at Kip McGrath in Launceston.  This has resulted so far in new enrolments into our sessions.  It is really exciting that we are going to welcome some more students from Scottsdale in third term – they are coming to the Saturday session.  We have also welcomed Glenda as a tutor to help us meet the demand.  Glenda is also taking some of the sessions for Nikki and Rachel as they have recently left to have babies.  Rachel welcomed Charlotte in July and Nikki is soon to welcome her new arrival.

We have also become more active on Facebook, and ask that you search for Kip McGrath Launceston and “like” our page to find out what is happening in the Centre or for you to post comments.  This page is moderated both by Head Office and I and we look forward to your likes and your comments on the page.

I’d also like to let you know in advance that I will be way from August 15th until September 23rd, including the School Holidays as I travel to Europe with my family to visit our son who is in England on a GAP year.  All sessions are going to continue as normal with tutors taking more classes and Rachel doing some work for the period I am away.  Your child will continue to receive the tutoring they need to progress towards their goals.  While I am away, the phone will be answered by Lou: and Lou or Tim will be able to answer any queries you have. I thank you for your understanding.

This term will finish on Friday, September 2nd and sessions re-commence on Monday, September 19th. Should you want to change day or time, please let me know asap so it can be arranged. For those of you wishing to take advantage of our discounted fees for third term:  the discount for the complete term of 13 weeks is $617.50.  Please pay this by the end of September if you want to take advantage of this rate.

All the best, well done for your efforts this term and I look forward to seeing you again in September.

Peter

CENTRE NEWSLETTER JUNE 2011

Dear Parents and Students

Thank you so much for your hard work and progress during the first term of 2011 – each of us is extremely proud of your efforts and the improvement which you have made at your tutoring sessions.

We are certainly looking forward to seeing you back in second term for your first session.  Our sessions begin again on Monday 20th June and your enrolment will continue in the same session unless you are wanting it to change to suit your family’s other busy commitments.  Many of our students are now attending two sessions per week and we can see their progress because of their efforts.  Please call Peter on 6334 3234 or ask at your lesson next week to organize a change of day or time.

We are not running a holiday programme during this holiday but will be looking at the feasibility of doing one again in January should there be enough interest, would you please talk to tutors or Peter if you’d like to take part in a series of Holiday Sessions in January.

There has been much hype in the media lately concerning Naplan tests and many of you are concerned with the results which will be released in late June/early July.  Remember these tests test what is happening on one day and we feel it is far more relevant to assess progress continually over a longer period of time.  That’s why it is great to be involved in Kip McGrath where we continually assess, test and modify programmes to ensure confidence, skills and attitudes are always on the improve.  Please be ready to discuss your child’s progress with their tutor at any time and do not hesitate to ask questions about what is being learnt.

At all times we are looking to work in partnership with each of you for your child to make the best progress they are capable of in their programme of English, Spelling, Reading, Comprehension or Mathematics.  We have students from all year groups (Prep to Grade 12) enrolled and are seeing great results from each of them.  Especially pleasing are those students who tell us that they find school work so much easier to understand because of the individual help they get at their tutoring session.  Please talk about us to your friends – we are always happy to welcome new students and offer a free lesson to you should a friend enrol, as well as their free assessment.

Good luck to our TCE students as they head towards trial exams for their subjects and keep healthy over the winter. Remember to regularly check our website for updates and further information:  www.kipmcgrath.com.au

Thank you

Peter, Lou, Rachel, Tim, Nikki, Lynda, David and Matt
